HOMDEL, NJ - The Governor Livingston girls and boys cross country team traveled to Holmdel Park in Holmdel, NJ on Saturday, October 5, to compete in the New Balance Shore Coaches Invitational, known to be the most competitive and challenging regular season meet in New Jersey.  

Senior Victoria Vanriele took fifth in the girls varsity race with a time of 19:47.  Connolly Jaqua, grade 9, placed 17th in 15:38 for the frosh two mile course. 

The varsity boys finished in second place, just four points behind the winning team. Senior Alex Aranas finished in 7th in 17:24, Other team members included Chris Marinko, grade 10, was 12th in 17:43; Brandon Woods, grade 12, placed 24th in 18:00; Matt Saia, grade 11, came in 44th at 18:31; Aidan Maguire, grade 12, took 47th in 18:37; Brian McGrath, grade 10, was 54th in 18:47; Matt Sternheim, grade 12, placed 71st in 19:09.

Joe Frank and Aidan Linde, both 9th graders, ran the JV 5K race placing 1st in 17:58 and third in 18:25, respectively.
