BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Muhlenberg College senior guard Sara Dilly ( Gov. Livingston 15', Berkeley Heights) was named Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year for the 2018/19 women's basketball season. Dilly a 5-7 guard was a key defensive performer for the Div. III's 26th ranked scoring defense enabling the Lady Mules to hold opponents to a program record of just 52.07 points per game. The tenacious lockdown defender led the team with 61 steals and finishes her career with a total of 167. Dilly closed out her four year collegiate career by scoring a team high 13 points in a Centennial Conference season ending playoff loss to Ursinus College. During her tenure at Muhlenberg, Dilly and her teammates went a combined 82-26, took home two Centennial Conference titles and made two appearances in the NCAA post season .
Aa a freshman Dilly played in 27 games on a Lady Mules team that went 25-3 and was ranked a program history best 14th in the season ending D III national poll. Sophomore year she started in all 28 games and posted a career high season scoring average of 7.6 points per game. Over her junior and senior season she played or started in every game the Lady Mules played and was a Scotty Wood Tournament MVP two times. Her senior season she was named as an honorable mention to the All –Centennial Conference team.
Dilly, a biology major is a Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll student for both 2017 and 2018. While at while at Gov. Livingston HS she was a 4 year basketball letter winner and served as the Lady Highlanders Captain her senior year. Sara Dilly is the daughter of Steve and JoAnn Dilly of Berkeley Heights.
