CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Commemorating the 19th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, TAPintoTV takes a look back at our 2018 coverage of Cedar Grove Waves:

Cedar Grove Waves honors the victims of terrorism, remembers the lives lost, and educates students with a heartfelt 9-11 tribute on the front lawn of Cedar Grove High School.

“I was a little over a year old when 9-11 happened, so I don’t remember much,” says Anthony, a student at Cedar Grove High School.

Cedar Grove Waves emphasizes the importance of educating the younger generation about the events of 9-11. Starting in 2015, students have installed the 2,977 flags each year, which include the flags of victim's home countries.

This year, Cedar Grove Waves installed a monument featuring a piece of steel from the original World Trade Center.

“We wanted to have a permanent piece that would remind people and cause a discussion with young people about the events of that day,” says David W. Schoner, Jr., Board Member of the Cedar Grove Board of Education.

Cedar Grove Waves will be in the front lawn of Cedar Grove High School from September 11th - 23rd.
