BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — Secure ballot boxes have been placed at the Bedminster Township municipal building, 1 Miller Lane, in Bedminster Township, and at Bernardsville Borough Hall, 166 Mine Brook Road in Bernardsville.

The Bernardsville drop box was due to open at 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 28, according to the county website.

Ballots were automatically mailed out to every active voter in Somerset County between Sept. 21-25, and were due to begin arriving in late September, according to the Somerset County election board.

Those registered voters who have not received a ballot by Oct. 10 should call the Somerset County clerk's Office at 908-231-7013 to determine if there is an issue to be resolved, the website said.

New voters who register by Oct. 13, and inactive voters who restore their state to active before Oct. 23, will receive their ballots in the mail automatically, the website said.

A secure ballot drop box placed at Bernards town hall is again unlocked to accept votes from Bernards Township residents, as well as from voters from throughout Somerset County, who wish to cast their ballots up to the General Election on Nov. 3.

The ballot drop box is located in the lobby at the rear entrance to the Bernards Township town hall at the municipal complex at 1 Collyer Lane in Basking Ridge. 

The ballot box, which was installed by Somerset County to accept votes in the July primary election, is now open around the clock, according to the Bernards Township website.

The General Election is scheduled for November 3 and will be conducted mainly by mail-in ballots. However, Somerset County has also installed ballot boxes throughout the county. Any county resident can place a ballot received in the mail in any ballot box in a Somerset County location.

In August, Bernards Township released information on options that township residents have for casting their votes in the 2020 general election, which includes a vote for U.S president.
