BEDMINSTER, NJ — One of the four seats on the Bedminster Township Committee will be up for vote on Election Night, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Republican incumbent R. Colin Hickey is facing a challenge from Democrat Jeff Beyer for his seat on the committee.
After being appointed to the Township Committee in 2017, Hickey later was elected to a full three-year term. Previously, he was the chair of the Environmental Commission and a member of the Master Plan Review Committee. He is currently the liaison to the Recreation Committee, Board of Health and Land Use Board, and also serves on the Farmers Market Committee, Agricultural Advisory Committee and on the Board of the Clarence Dillon Public Library.
Beyer, who has lived in Bedminster for 32 years, is currently the chairman of the Bedminster Democratic Committee. He serves as secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Clarence Dillon Library, and he also served on the boards of the New Jersey National Golf Club and the Great Dane Club of Raritan Valley.
Beyer graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science degree, and later served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam. He has an MBA from Fordham University.
