BLOOMFIELD, NJ - Newcomers got the first two ballot positions for the 2017 Bloomfield Board of Education after names were pulled at Essex County Clerk Chris Durkin's office on Monday. 

Five candidates are running for three seats on the BOE. The terms of three current BOE members, Michael Heller, Emily M.Smith, Ellen Rogers, are up in November. All three are running to retain their seat. Two candidates, Jessica Salinas and Thomas Heaney are running for the first time. 

Candidates will appear on the ballot in the following order: Heaney, Salinas, Rogers, Smith, and Heller.
