BLOOMFIELD, NJ--The Bloomfield Fire Department swore in five new firefighters, all of whom have completed 10 weeks of vigorous firefighter training as well as 6 weeks of EMT training.  The newest members are Claudio Carchia, Christopher Caldarella, Patrick Thomas, Anthony Coco and Sean Lind.  Patrick Thomas previously served the Township as a volunteer firefighter.

In addition to the new hires, Gennaro Ilaria was promoted to the position of Fire Official.  Ilaria, a 25-year veteran of the department brings a wealth of knowledge and training to the position.He will oversee the Fire Prevention Bureau, all inspections as well as handling all fire code issues.  

The Bloomfield Fire Department provides 24 hour fire suppression services to the Township of Bloomfield.  The Department also provides first responder medical services.
