BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bloomfield Fire Department responded to a fire that started in the kitchen of a wood frame house on Broughton Ave this afternoon. Reports of the fire were made around 12:30 p.m.

The fire was limited to the kitchen area of the home.

Bloomfield Ladder Truck One, along with Engines Two, Three, and Four responded to the home at the corner of Broughton Ave and Daka Ct. The Montclair, Belleville, and East Orange fire departments provided mutual aid coverage during the incident.

Because of the cold, residents of the home waited in a car parked in the driveway as firefighters extinguished the fire. 

Once the fire equipment was removed from the home, the residents were able to enter the home at around 1 p.m.
