BLOOMFIELD, NJ-- The Bloomfield High girls' soccer team hosted Newark East Side on Oct. 20, at Foley Field, in the annual 'Senior Day' contest.

East Side won the game, 2-1, in overtime, but it was a well-played game by both teams, with solid defense and outstanding goal keeping by both teams.

Sophia Llanes scored a first-half goal for Bloomfield (2-4-1) which tied the game at one. After a scoreless second half, the game went into the first overtime before East Side (4-2) won it with a goal.

"It was a good game," said Bloomfield coach Jon Aliaga. "East Side has a good team. I thought both teams played well."

There was a brief ceremony at halftime, as the seniors were honored with their parents and family. Following the game, the players had some pizza and were presented with a cake from the senior parents.

The BHS seniors include Gwen Reoch, Nisha Doshi, Alexandra Reyes, Emily Baca, Natalie Lloyd, Casey Dolan, Christina Vocaturo, Ella Hamberlin, Isabella DeVito and Gianna Feliciano.
