BLOOMFIELD, NJ - As DPW crews continue to clear the more than 90 miles of street surfaces (not including county roads), and police units continue to patrol the streets to make sure everyone in Bloomfield is safe, Mayor Michael Venezia issued the following statement.

"Please stay safe today. We are experiencing blizzard conditions, and asking all residents to get their vehicles off the street wherever possible. Since early morning, the Township of Bloomfield Public Works & Parks has consistently had 28 DPW workers in plow trucks plowing and salting the Township's 405 roads. We have also enlisted two private contractors for this effort, and have a dozen DPW workers shoveling and salting the sidewalks. They will be taking short breaks per union labor agreements, and working into the night to ensure the safety of Bloomfield residents. I cannot thank the entire DPW enough for their amazing efforts."
