BLOOMFIELD, NJ-- You may have noticed some members of the Bloomfield Police Department looking a little fuzzy over the month of November.  You may have also noticed that those same officers are now freshly shaved thanks to High Definition Barber Shop in Bloomfield.

Shop owner Danny Batista teamed up with Bloomfield PBA Local 32 members to provide a shave for $20.00, in which all proceeds were donated to The American Cancer Society.  The Bloomfield Police Officers had taken part in No Shave November where their normal policies regarding facial hair were relaxed in order to raise awareness and money for cancer.

On Sunday, December 2nd, a day the barber shop is normally closed, Danny Batista and his team of stylists Carlos, Michael and Jonathan, donated their time to help out a great cause.  The local business had a steady stream of Bloomfield's Finest coming through the door between Noon and 4 PM to revert to their pre November look.

Among the officers who came in to support the event was Lt. Nick Polidoro, Bloomfield SOA President. "I’d like to thank Danny and his staff at high definition barber shop for opening on their day off and donating their time for this worthy cause. I wish that we didn't’t have to run an event like this but unfortunately this terrible disease affects many families and until there’s a cure the Bloomfield PBA will continue to run this fundraiser."

Bob Kish, PBA Local 32 President also took part in No Shave November and came to the barbershop for a shave. "This terrible disease affects our entire community.  It's our honor to help do our part in fighting cancer.  We look forward to making this an annual event."

The fundraiser generated over $13000 for The American Cancer Society.

High Definition Barber Shop is located at 65 Montgomery Street in Bloomfield and can be reached at 973-707-5778 for an appointment.
