BLOOMFIELD, NJ - Bloomfield Police announce the arrest of Darrin Brookins who was subsequently charged with burglary, theft, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police were dispatched to an apartment on Patton Dr. at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 9. A female resident encountered the suspect in her apartment, at which time she called the police. The suspect left the apartment after taking two laptop computer. He fled towards Bellevile.
Sgt. Joseph Corio along with a Belleville Police Unit located the suspect at the 7- Eleven Store on Mill Street. The suspect’s backpack was recovered, which contained the victim's laptop computers.
Bail was set at $50,000.00 dollars with no 10% option.
Police Director Samuel DeMaio commended the outstanding police work of the Patrol Sergeant and Officers in bringing this habitual burglar to justice.
