BLOOMFIELD, NJ-- After a hot and hazy morning and early afternoon, the skies opened up in Bloomfield shortly after 6 p.m. where heavy rain and winds wreaked havoc, especially on the North end of town.
Police and fire crews were spotted in the Brookdale ShopRite parking lot where a large tree had been uprooted and came down on top of a parked car. The tree also took down electrical wires that were draped across the lot. There is no word on any injuries.
Fallen tree limbs could be seen throughout many streets in the area as a result of the hour long storm.
