BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The U17 Bloomfield XI took one step closer to one of US Club Soccer’s ultimate prizes, the New Jersey Cup with a 5 – 2 victory in group of 32 play Friday night at Foley Field. 

Bloomfield awaits the winner of Arsenal Soccer Academy/Passaic Youth Soccer, a match scheduled for April in the New Jersey Cup round of 16.

After conceding an early goal and falling behind 1-0, Bloomfield came back with three unanswered goals to take a 3 -1 lead. Union County scored a late goal to make the last moments more tense but Bloomfield added two insurance goals in the final minutes for the 5-2 victory.

The U17Boys New Jersey Cup features 3 teams currently ranked in the top 20 in the Nation. A lofty goal Bloomfield hopes to return to with a strong run in the New Jersey Cup.
