BLOOMFIELD, NJ-- If you're looking for something new in town to wake your taste buds up from the humdrum of everyday food, head North on Broad Street and check out Cafe MoBay. This new destination is a cozy neighborhood spot where the feel, aroma and flavors will transport you to the Caribbean. Chef Patrick Smith infuses his love of cooking into every meal where each dish that comes out of the kitchen looks as good as it tastes.
Signature appetizers include Codfish Fritters that come to life in a caramel ginger sauce with a touch of honey and Gulf Jerk Shrimp with a yummy tomato marmalade. The entrees include classics like Jerk Pork,Jerk Chicken, Oxtails and Curried Goat and Roti, a delicious flatbread that can be prepared in many different styles. Cafe MoBay also makes amazing homemade drinks, offering a variety of fresh juices including sorrel juice. Sorrel is the Jamaican word for hibiscus, a flower which grows abundantly on the island. Even though this drink is served on ice, sorrel retains the flavors of the holiday season – cinnamon, all spice and fresh ginger.
Cafe MoBay also features live music with rotating bands performing on Saturday nights. There are daily lunch specials available and Saturday and Sunday Brunch is offered from 11-3. Why go to Jamaican when you can dine at Cafe MoBay, where Everything is "Irie".
