WESTFIELD, NJ — Families and their dogs flocked to Downtown Westfield Sunday for the town’s first-ever “Dog Days of Summer” event.  Originally scheduled for  last week but postponed due to weather, it was third event in the Downtown Westfield Corporation’s new “Second Sundays” series, which features a different themed event on the second Sunday of each month. 

Quimby Street was closed off to traffic for the festivities, which included a pet parade, pet yoga led by Brassy Buddha Yoga Studio, samples, free portraits by Little Nest Portraits and pools for the dogs to play in. Other participating businesses included Woof Gang Bakery, Learning Express, Ono Bowls, Valencia School of Music, NosVino, Juxtapose Gallery, Urban Sewciety, AR Workshop, Alex & Ani, Sole Shoes and Just Bead Yourself.

Best Friend Animal Adoption and Wise Animal Rescue were also on hand.
