BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Easter Bunny paid a special visit to Downtown Bloomfield on Sunday, April 7 as nearly three dozen pet owners brought their “best friends” to Bloomfield Center Alliance’s “Photo with a Pet” event.
The BCA, along with volunteers from the Supporters of the Bloomfield Animal Shelter, created a “pop-up” photo studio at 78 Washington Street – an empty storefront near the heart of the downtown district.
Organized as a benefit for the Shelter, it was a fun day of cuteness and tail wagging as the shelter raised money through donations for the pictures and the sale of raffle tickets for the chance to win several pet supply gift baskets.
The space was graciously offered to support the fundraiser by the property owner that manages the building’s commercial/retail facilities known collectively as The Shops at Bloomfield Station.
According to BCA Director Ollyn J. Lettman, “We want to thank everyone who participated and supported this effort – especially The Shops at Bloomfield Station who have been a great community partner allowing us to host various activities in their space, including art exhibitions and holiday programs. The goal of this activity was not only to bring another new, fun activity to Bloomfield Center while helping an important organization, but also spotlight the availability of some great downtown space and show other exciting things going on in our downtown . . . like new restaurants and upcoming development.”
