BLOOMFIELD, NJ - Bloomfield College has announced Lisa Shaheen as the new Director of Student Financial Services, following a nationwide search.

Shaheen, who started on August 1, will provide the overall management and strong leadership necessary for the effective administration of the Bloomfield College's student financial services and scholarship programs including, financial aid processing and disbursement and  counseling services. Shaheen will also be responsible for the administration of federal, state, and institutional financial aid, including scholarship, endowments, and grant budgets.

A non-traditional, first- generation student, Shaheen attended community college in Detroit, Michigan before moving to New York City. Her career in Higher Education began in 1994 at The New School in New York City as a cashier in the Bursar's Office. It was at The New School that she was able to earn a bachelor's degree while working as a full-time employee.

In her new role at Bloomfield College, Shaheen will develop and execute a departmental vision and strategy for leveraging financial aid resources and meeting student financial needs while supporting the College's enrollment goals, monitoring and reporting on the College's discount rate, and improving student satisfaction.

Shaheen hopes to use her wealth of experience and strategic thinking to make a positive difference in the lives of Bloomfield College students and their families.
