EDISON, NJ – A 21-year-old township man apparently survived a jump from the Morris Goodkind Bridge Wednesday morning, police said.
According to police, the unidentified man parked his car in the area of Fox Road at 10:39 a.m. Sept. 7 and then walked to the bridge, which spans the Raritan River between New Brunswick and Edison.
Police said the man climbed onto the railing and jumped, falling to the ground below the bridge.
Arriving officers found the man, who was conscious and alert at the time, on the Edison side of the bridge.
Paramedics arrived and began medical assistance at the scene, then transported the victim to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for further treatment.
Police did not know the extent of his injuries.
