BLOOMFIELD, NJ - Bloomfield Mayor Michael Venezia, Councilman Nick Joanow, and Township Administrator Matthew Watkins were among the local leaders who distributed 336 turkeys to Bloomfield residents Sunday morning. Sunday's distribution included a turkey and all of the sides including dessert to make this Thanksgiving special.

Councilman Joanow explained that Several local businesses and residents donated to help make Mayor Venezia's Turkey Giveaway possible, including Brookdale Shop Rite which made a substantial contribution, and Columbus Specialty Hospital who donated the pumpkin pies. 

“Bloomfield will celebrate Thanksgiving the best way we know how, by helping hundreds of residents, families and neighbors be able to have a warm Thanksgiving meal together.” said Mayor Venezia.

"I am very thankful and proud to live in this town and mostly to see our Mayor Venezia was out there on a windy Sunday morning providing for this community alongside the Bloomfield Police Department. Thank you Mayor Venezia, my family will be blessed with a complete Thanksgiving dinner thanks to this opportunity" Chastity Gonzalez said.

In total, approximately 1,100 Bloomfield residents will be served during the Thanksgiving holiday period including tne economically disadvantaged, senior citizens, the homebound, and those dealing with serious illness.
