MONTCLAIR, NJ - Montclair Police Officers were at the scene of a residential home located at 13 Fulton Street investigating how a bullet shattered the window of an unoccupied car.

The vehicle owner reported coming out to find the vehicle with a shattered window and stated that they had no idea of when or how this happened. The vehicle was parked in the driveway.

Police officials state that the bullet did not enter the vehicle, but seems to have glanced the rear passenger window. The investigation continued for several hours while police officials tried to put together the pieces of this incident.

Lt. David O'Dowd responded to the inquiry of TAPinto Montclair providing details into the incident. He stated "...Sometime after 8am, an unoccupied vehicle was struck by a bullet on Fulton Street."

O'Dowd added, "The vehicle was parked in a residential driveway.  The bullet appears to have glanced off the rear passenger window of the vehicle, shattering it."  

Police officials state that it doesn't appear that the vehicle or location was targeted.  The incident is still under investigation.
