LOS ANGELES, CA - Actor and Hasbrouck Heights native Jason Biggs will debut in a new comedy on network televison on Thursday night.
"OutMatched" is "family comedy about a blue-collar couple in Atlantic City trying to raise four kids – three of whom just happen to be certified geniuses," according to the show's website. It stars Biggs as Mike and Maggie Lawson as Kay his wife who face the challenges of raising uber smart kids. The show also features Tisha Campbell as Rita and Finesse Mitchell as Irwin.
"I wanted to do this show because I thought it was funny, but also because I totally related to this idea that parenting, any child, even if they aren't "geniuses," makes you feel like you're holding on for dear life and constantly being outsmarted," said Biggs, from the set, shooting the series.
"I also love the relationship the parents, Mike and Kay, have with each other - they are the beating heart of the show - they know they need each other more than ever if they are going to have any chance of successfully parents these incredible children."
Biggs is a 1996 graduate of Hasbrouck Heights High School. He has a long resume of notable performances, ranging from daytime's "As the World Turns" where he received a Daytime Emmy nomination, to Broadway with Judd Hirsch in "Conversations with my Father" and "The Graduate," alongside Kathleen Turner and Alicia Silverstone; the Netflix series "Orange is the New Black"; and most notably for the "American Pie" movie trilogy.
The new series premieres Thursday, January 23 at 8:30pm on Fox.
