WALK & TALK
Thank you to our gracious host Graeme Hardie and all who joined us for last week's Market Walk & Talk to the Mountsier-Hardie Garden as a sneak peek of the Sep 15 Nutley Family Service Bureau Garden Party fundraiser (get your tickets before they sell out!).
This week's Market Walk & Talk will be led by Joe Armentano, MSW, LCSW, Director of Clinical Services and Programming for Nutley Family Service Bureau. Joe can answer your questions about social and mental health services and resources while we walk a scenic 3-mile loop. Meet at the Greenutley tent at 8:15am or RSVP on Meetup for our 8:30am walk
Our "Sustainability Sundays” topic is Best Ways to Save Energy & Money. Check out last week's Conserving Water.
This week, shop Asprocolas Acres, Buon Antipasto, Empanada Lady, Gourmet Nuts & Dried Fruit, Hidden Valley Farm, Hoboken Farms, Layton Florals, Pickles Olives Etc., Treelicioius Orchards, and Truffalla.
While you shop, enjoy musical entertainment by Anthony Meola & Friends.
MARKET HAPPENINGS –
If you've visited Pretty Handy's 2nd floor makerspace and gift shop at 175 Franklin Avenue, you know their mission is to bring local crafters, vendors, and diy-ers together. We're very excited to welcome Pretty Handy to the Market!
For Pretty Handy's first market appearance they will be doing a special collaboration with local artist, Denise Costantino. This creative collaboration will feature artisan-made one of a kind items debuting original artwork by Denise that pays homage to Nutley's past, present, and future. Those who come out this weekend will be the first to view Denise's exclusive designs and have the opportunity to snag items from this limited quantity collection.
Looking ahead* Sep 22 is our annual Green Day at the Market mini eco-fest as well as Denim & Textile Recycling Day. Our growing Green Day line-up includes Essex County Environmental Center, Borderline Bikes, Clean Temple Body Essentials, League of Women Voters, Montclair Made, Otherwise Milk, Pretty Handy, Purple Dragon, Somers 27 Soap Co. We welcome diverse green/sustainability organizations and businesses to join in. Contact our Market Manager Meredith Blank at email@example.com or 973-284-4951, xt. 2424 to learn more.
* On Sep 29, the Market will take part in the Nutley Fall Festival running 11am-4pm in Memorial Park I (the Mud Hole). Find the Market near the Chestnut Street entrance instead of our usual Franklin Avenue location. Market Walk & Talk will meet there at 9:30am.
P.S. Looking to make your day even greener? Consider biking or walking to the Market!
See you at the Market!
