Overnight Exxon Gas Station Robbery on Bloomfield Avenue

BLOOMFIELD, NJ - Bloomfield Police confirm reports of an overnight armed robbery of the Exxon gas station at 491 Bloomfield Avenue. The station is near the area where the Garden State Parkway crosses over Bloomfield Avenue. 

According to reports from the police department, the suspect entered the store to make a purchase, then pulled a black handgun from his waistband after making his way behind the counter. The suspect fled with money from the register then entered the passenger side of a red Oldsmobile. The vehicle is reported to have driven East on Bloomfield Avenue.

Bloomfield police confirmed that the vehicle was stolen in Hillside in Union County Sunday evening.

The robbery took place at approximately 3:00  a.m. There were no reported injuries.

 The suspect is described as a black male 5'10 between 150-170 pounds. The investigation is active.
