BLOOMFIELD, NJ--Longtime resident and former Councilwoman Peggy O'Boyle Dunigan passed away today.  Dunigan was a widely respected Councilwoman from 2002-2007 and again from 2011-2013.  She was well known throughout town and her impact on the community was immeasurable.

Dunigan was a fixture on Broad Street where she could always be found at Brookside Garden Center, where she worked for many years.  Dunigan was extremely proud of her Irish Heritage.  She belonged to many local organizations and was the Deputy Grand Marshal of the Newark Saint Patrick's Day Parade in 2001.  "Peggy was a wonderful public servant who loved Bloomfield and loved to serve.  She will be greatly missed", said Mayor Michael Venezia.  Further details to follow as we receive them.
