BLOOMFIELD NJ - According to published reports by the Breaking News Network (BNN), Bloomfield Police are canvassing the area of Belleville Ave following reports of a person dressed as a clown harassing people.

The "creepy clown" sightings have received national attention in recent weeks, causing concern for law enforcement and school officials. In neighboring Montclair, clown costumes were banned by school officials.

Target stores and other major retailers have removed clown costumes and "creepy clown" items in particular from their shelves.

One of the first clown sightings in New Jersey took place in Hanover Park in late September as reported by TAPinto East Hanover.
