BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Roxbury High School baseball team played, and won, a scorcher in Bloomfield on Thursday where the heat was so oppressive the opposing pitcher had to call time out for a water break.

But the Gaels kept their cool, coming out with an early lead that was helped by WIll Findlay's home run blast to left field. Tucker Voelbel and Jared Shimenti both scored doubles while the rest of the lineup kept things hot with singles and multiple base stealing.

Pitching was a real team effort with Jared Shimenti starting, Will Findlay and Mike Roumes relieving and Thomas Darling closing out the game. Both teams had 11 hits, but the final score had the Gaels on top: Roxbury 11, Bloomfield 8.
