BLOOMFIELD NJ - The St.Valentine Family Festival kicked off Friday night and continues Saturday and Sunday nights.
The annual event includes rides, games of skill, music, and food. There is even a beer garden and beer trailer with multiple taps.
Smaller children will enjoy the carousel. According to carnival lore, a young lady who rides the horse with the golden mane will someday become a princess. As there were no authorities on royal ascension at the event, this could not be confirmed.
The tallest festival attraction is the fun slide. Guests climb to the top of the multilane slide and race to the bottom to the cheers of parents and grandparents below. There are dragons that go round and round, a scrambler, and even a fun house for guests to enjoy. Tickets are required for the rides.
Zeppoles, from Tony’s Zeppoles and Calzones, were selling just as quickly as Tony could make them. These balls of fried dough covered in powdered sugar are a carnival favorite. The aroma of grilling meat filled the air and sweet treats were available as well.
The fun continues Saturday 4pm - 10:30pm and Sunday 2pm - 9pm. St Valentine Roman Catholid Church is at 125 North Spring Street Bloomfield, NJ 07003. It is at the intersection of East Passaic Avenue, Hoover Avenue, and JFK Parkway.
