BLOOMFIELD, NJ-- The Bloomfield Beautification Committee completed their first project yesterday morning as they cleaned up the triangle at North 15th Street and Bloomfield Avenue and planted flowers and shrubs. The triangle serves as a “Welcome to Bloomfield” point, as represented by a sign stating the same.
The Bloomfield Beautification Committee is comprised of Jenni Preziotti Gamble, Caroline Vargas, Iris Acevedor, Michael LoConte, Ryan Smircich, Suzanne Greydanus, Kristine Bell, Laura DeMichele, Susan Moseson, Moira Nelson and Susana Sotillo with Martha Felix acting as committee chair and Councilwoman Jenny Mundell serving as the Township liaison to the committee. They were also assisted in this project by Bloomfield's Department of Public Works and other community volunteers.
"I want to thank all the volunteers on the Bloomfield Beautification Committee, not only who came out to plant yesterday, but also those who helped with all the planning. They saw a need in the town and took this project from start to finish. And special thanks to the Bloomfield Department of Public Works, under the leadership of Anthony Nesto, for preparation of the site and procuring the plants from Brookside Garden Center. This is what community looks like,” said Mundell.
