NUTLEY, NJ - Two Nutley residents died after a fire broke out in their home on Park Ave. Sat. Jan. 18, 2020. 

The fire broke out around noon. TAPinto Nutley was on the scene of the fire and first reported the news in the afternoon.

Units from Nutley, Bloomfield, Lyndhurst and Bellevile are on the scene. EMS units from Nutley and North Arlington are also on the scene.

At the time of that report, it was known that three residents were injured and taken to hospital. It was later confirmed that two of the residents did not survive their injuries. 

Nutley Commissioner of Public Safety, Alphonse Petracco, referred questions to the Essex County Prosecutors Office. That office has not responded to us yet.

TAPinto Nutley is awaiting official confirmation of the identifies of the victims as well as the condition of the third party.

Several parties in the community have reached out to us with regard to helping the survivors. At this time we can confirm that official organizations are working on formal efforts to provide assistance. These include the American Red Cross and Nutley Family Service Bureau. As soon as formal details are made known, will provide details regarding how our readers can help our neighbors following the worst day of their life once that information is known.
