NEWARK, NJ - Newark Police confirmed that woman who was arrested on Monday February 6 used the name of a Bloomfield woman when she was arrested.
At approximately 12:28 p.m. on Monday, Newark police observed a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Pennington Street. When the police attempted a motor vehicle stop, the driver, Marcus Mendez fled the scene and struck two parked vehicles near the intersection of Mulberry and Camp Street. The car, a Toyota that was reported stolen on February 1 became disabled.
Both Mendez and Lauren Fletcher were arrested without further incident.
Mendez is charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Eluding, Criminal Mischief and Possession of Hypodermic Syringes. Fletcher is charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Hindering Apprehension and Possession of Hypodermic Syringes.
