BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The following police blotter has been issued by Lt. Anthony Sisco of the Bloomfield Police Department.

Shoplifting:

2/19/18 – Officers dispatched to Modells (224 Bloomfield Ave) on a report of shoplifting. Complainant (Modells employee) observed an Unknown Black Male suspect place (2) “Nike” hooded sweatshirts and batting gloves (total value $94.97) in a duffle bag then exit store without purchasing items. Suspect then boarded a #11 NJ Transit Bus on Bloomfield Ave. Incident under investigation.

2/21/18- Christine Aponte Age 55 of Bloomfield, NJ- Officers were dispatched to CVS (250 Glenwood Ave) on a report of a shoplifter who fled scene. Store Employee reports a Hispanic Female Suspect described as wearing all black clothing, placed numerous cosmetic items in a bag, then exited store without purchasing items. A short time later, store employee located this suspect still in possession of stolen items (total value $119.60). Suspect was placed under arrest, transported to HQ, processed and charged with Shoplifting, then released with a Pending Court Date.

2/22/18- Willie Washington Age 66 of Newark, NJ- Officers dispatched to 60 Orange Street (Home Depot) on a report of a shoplifter detained by Loss Prevention. The suspect concealed a “Rigid Auto Feed Drain Gun” ($345.00 value) on his person, then attempted to exit the store without paying. The suspect was arrested, transported to HQ, processed and charged with Shoplifting. Prisoner transported to UMD Hospital due to medical issues.

2/22/18- Yamil Lopez Age 35 of Newark, NJ- Officers were dispatched to 135 Bloomfield Ave (Dollar Tree) on a report of a shoplifting. A Hispanic Male Suspect described as thin, wearing dark colored pants was observed concealing items in his pants, then fleeing from the store. The Suspect was located by Officers on La France Ave still in possession of stolen items. He was placed under arrest, transported to HQ, processed and charged with Shoplifting. Suspect had an Outstanding Warrant out of the Jurisdiction of Kearny. He was given a R.O.R. for Bloomfield Charge, then placed into Cell Block awaiting Kearny PD.

2/22/18- Rhett Ellis Age 53 of East Orange, NJ- Officers dispatched to 77 Bloomfield Ave (Rite Aid) on a report of a Suspicious Person inside the store. Rite Aid manager called Police due to this individual being a Known Shoplifter. Individual was located inside store, and found to be concealing (6) bottles of various Shampoos ($40.74 value). He was placed under arrest, transported to HQ, processed and charged with Shoplifting. Prisoner also had an Outstanding Warrant out of the Jurisdiction of Nutley. He was given a R.O.R. on Bloomfield Charge, then placed into Cell Block awaiting Nutley PD.

2/25/18-Kaili Richardson Age 36 of Montclair, NJ – Officers dispatched to 10 Franklin Street (The Children’s Place) on a report of a shoplifter detained by Belleville PD. Suspect concealed various clothing items on his person then fled store where he was apprehended by Belleville PD. After being arrested and processed in Belleville, Prisoner was transported to Bloomfield PD HQ, processed and charged with Shoplifting, then released with a Pending Court Date.

2/25/18- Kevin Santiago-Rivera Age 24 of Newark, NJ- Officers were dispatched to 131 Bloomfield Ave (Sally’s Beauty Supply) on a report of a shoplifting. Complainant/ Store Employee observed an Unknown Male remove (2) Curling Irons ($157.48 value) from a shelf, then exit store without purchasing items. Police located Suspect, who was placed under arrest, transported to HQ, processed and charged with Shoplifting, released with a new court date.

Burglary:

2/23/18- Officers responded to the 100 Block of Lawrence Street on a report of a Burglary. Complainant returned home discovering a window open with the curtain moved. Apt was found to be in disarray with clothes thrown about the floor, dresser drawers left opened, and other items out of place. CSU processed scene. Incident is under investigation.

Warrant Arrest: 2/20/18- Simone Jurka Age 56 of East Orange, NJ- Officers performing a Directed Patrol at 250 Glenwood Ave were directed into the Dunkin Donuts by an employee reporting an Unwanted Individual. The individual in question was a Caucasian Female who was seated at a table for a period of time, refusing to leave the establishment at the request of the manager. The Female provided ID to the Officers, and was Record Checked yielding results of an Outstanding Warrant out of the Jurisdiction of East Orange. Female was placed under arrest, Transported to HQ, processed then placed into Cell Block awaiting EOPD.

02/20/18- Allen Meisenkothen Age 19 of Glen Ridge, NJ- Officers on Routine Patrol conducted a Field Interview on a Caucasian Male riding a skateboard on Bloomfield Ave near Liberty Street, who fit a description of a person of interest in a Graffiti investigation. The male provided ID and Record Checked, which alerted Officers to an Outstanding Warrant out of the Jurisdiction of Glen Ridge. The Male was placed under arrest, transported to HQ, processed then transported to Glen Ridge PD.

2/21/18- Anthony Webb Age 31 of Bloomfield, NJ- Officers on Routine Patrol observed a vehicle traveling on JFK Drive that made lane changes without using the proper turn signal. A MV Stop was conducted, Driver produced ID identifying as the registered owner, a Record Check Yielded Results of Driver having an Outstanding Warrant out of the Jurisdiction of Glen-Ridge. Driver was placed under arrest, transported to HQ, processed and released with a new court date.

2/23/18- Paul Leon Age 22 of Bloomfield, NJ- Officers on assigned to a Traffic Detail in the area of JFK Dr. observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. A MV Stop was conducted, where the driver produced ID identifying him as the registered owner. A Record Check Yielded Results that driver had an Outstanding Warrant out of Bloomfield. Driver was arrested, transported to HQ, Processed and released with a new court date. 2/24/18-Rocco Cartem Age 33 of Newark, NJ- Officers responded to Newark PD 5 th Prescient Taking a Prisoner into Custody who had an Outstanding Warrant out of Bloomfield. Prisoner was transported to HQ, processed then placed into Cell Block awaiting transport to County Jail.
