BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The following police blotter has been issued by Lt. Anthony Sisco of the Bloomfield Police Department.

Shoplifting:

4/9/18- Rhett Ellis Age 53 of East Orange, NJ- Officers were dispatched to 77 Bloomfield Ave (Rite Aid) on a shoplifter in custody. Loss Prevention observed a familiar male suspect who is not allowed to be in the store. The suspect concealed two bottles of body wash and placed them in his jacket. The suspect was confronted by officers and was ran NCIC for warrants. Mr. Ellis had an outstanding warrant out of Bloomfield. He was arrested, transported to HQ, issued a summons and transferred to Essex County Jail without incident.

4/10/18- Officers were dispatched to 77 Bloomfield Ave (Rite Aid) on a report of a shoplifting. Loss Prevention observed an unknown male exit the store with a basket full of items. The suspect is described to be a young African American male wearing a black Nike baseball Hat, Black Jacket and gray pants. Items taken were valued at $277.96. Incident is under investigation.

Theft:

4/9/18- Officers were dispatched to Parkway West on a report of a theft. Complainant’s wife heard noises coming from their backyard. She then observed that 2 bicycles were stolen from the backyard and saw 4 to 5 black males walking away from their residence. Bicycle 1 is described as a Silver “TREK” Mountain Bicycle ($200.00 value). Bicycle 2 is described as a Green “HUFFY” Mountain Bicycle ($100.00 value). Incident is under investigation.

4/10/18- Officers were dispatched to Bloomfield Avenue (Arlene’s Bridal) on a report of a Theft. The complainant observed an unknown African American male walk into the back room of the establishment and take $575.00 cash from her purse along with her I-PAD ($500 value). The suspect is described to be African American male, 5’5-5’6 in height, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans, and short hair. Incident is under investigation.

Motor Vehicle Theft:

4/10/18- Officers dispatched to Orange Street on a report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. The complainant parked his vehicle in the back lot of Home Depot at 4:50 A.M. When he returned at approximately 7:30 A.M., he noticed his vehicle was missing. The complainant observed an unknown male on surveillance camera get into his vehicle and drive off. The vehicle is 1998 beige Nissan Maxima. The vehicle was entered NCIC stolen.

4/15/18- An Officer was dispatched to 400 block of Franklin Street on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. He stated he came to visit a friend at a Bloomfield College dorm and parked his motorcycle across the street. When he came out on 4/15/18 at 6:00 a.m. the motorcycle wasn't where he left it. The motorcycle is a 2014 BMW Motorcycle NY registration 79TE46. It was entered NCIC stolen.

Warrant Arrest:

4/11/18- Timothy Benjamin Age 51 of East Orange, NJ- Officers were dispatched to East Orange Police Department to take custody of a suspect with warrants out of Bloomfield. The suspect was handcuffed, transported to HQ, processed, and transferred to Essex County Correctional Facility.

4/11/18- Frankie Wilson Age 47 of East Orange, NJ- An Officer on routine patrol at 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) conducted a random plate inquiry on a vehicle exiting the parking lot. Info Cop alerted the officer that the registered owner had a warrant out of East Orange. A MV Stop was conducted and provided all proper identification. The driver was handcuffed, transported to HQ, processed and released with a new court date. 

4/12/18-Theodore Clark Age 58 of Newark, NJ- Officers observed a vehicle traveling on Bloomfield Ave and conducted a random plate check. The record check alerted officers that the register owner had a suspended license and a warrant. A MV Stop was conducted and the driver provided proper identification that he was the register owner. The driver was arrested, transported to HQ, issued a summons and transported to Passaic County Sheriff’s Department.

4/12/18- Andrea Felton, Age 29 of Newark, NJ- Officers on routine patrol observed a vehicle traveling on Bloomfield Ave with a broken right side view mirror and a broken rear right brake light. A record check revealed that the registered owner had an outstanding warrant out of Roselle Park. A MV Stop was conducted and the driver provided proper identification. The driver was handcuffed, transported to HQ, processed and released with a new court date.

4/14/18- Devon Livingston Age 27 of East Orange, NJ- Officers on patrol observed a vehicle parked in the fire lane on Bloomfield Ave. A MV Stop was conducted and the vehicle was checked through INFO Cop. The register owner provided proper identification which came back that he had a suspended license and a warrant out of East Orange. The driver was arrested, transported to HQ, processed, posted bail and released with a new court date. 

4/14/18- Johnny Soler Age 47 of Belleville, NJ- Officers were dispatched to Belleville Ave on a motor vehicle accident. Both drivers provided all their proper paperwork to generate a report. While entering one of the driver’s information through the mobile data terminal, it alerted officers that he had an active warrant out of Belleville. The driver was arrested, transported to HQ, processed and transferred to Belleville Police Department.
