BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The following police blotter has been issued by Lt. Anthony Sisco of the Bloomfield Police Department.
2/6/18-Juanita Torrado Age 41 of Bloomfield, NJ- Officers dispatched to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on a shoplifter detained by Loss Prevention. The female suspect was observed removing an electric toothbrush ($29.99 value) from a shelf, then attempting to exchange the item for cash at Courtesy Desk. Suspect was placed under arrest, transported to HQ, and charged with Shoplifting. Suspect released with a pending Court Date.
2/10/18- John Russo Age 40 of Brick, NJ- Officers on Routine Patrol at 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) observed a Loss Prevention employee arguing with an individual. The individual on scene was a shoplifter who concealed deodorants and razor blades on his person ($112.31 value) then exited the establishment, where he was detained by loss prevention. Suspect was arrested, transported to HQ, and charged with Shoplifting. Suspect was released with a pending Court date.
2/10/18- Jose Santiago Age 56 of Newark, NJ- Officers were dispatched to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on a report of a shoplifter detained by Loss Prevention. The suspect concealed numerous boxes of makeup, a walking cane, and a can of aerosol spray, ($139.42 value) then attempted to exit store without purchasing items. The suspect was arrested, transported to HQ, charged with Shoplifting. Suspect released with a pending Court date.
2/10/18- Officers dispatched to 60 Orange Street (Home Depot) on a report of a Theft. Complainant reported leaving his cell phone on a bench, when he returned he discovered his phone missing. A store employee observed an unknown Black Male suspect described as heavy set wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt carrying a red bag take phone then exit store.
2/11/18- Officers dispatched to the 100 block of Birch Street on a report of Theft. Resident came home and noticed items missing from his bedroom. Items reported missing are a white Xbox ($325.00 value), (2) Xbox controllers ($50.00 Value), wireless Xbox headset ($40.00 value), (1) Madden video game ($60.00 value), and a $100.00 Home Depot Gift Card. There were No signs of forced entry to the residence.
Motor Vehicle Theft: 2/8/18- Officers dispatched to the 100 block of Broad Street on a report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. Complainant parked her vehicle in the parking lot. When she returned some time later, she observed an Unknown Black Male Suspect driving her vehicle and exiting the parking lot. Vehicle was entered Stolen into NCIC.
2/8/18- Officers dispatched to 388 Bloomfield Ave (China Taste) on a report of a Motor Vehicle Theft-Just Occurred. Complainant (China Taste employee) had his vehicle’s engine running in the rear lot of the restaurant while loading delivery items into the rear seat. An Unknown Suspect entered the vehicle’s driver’s door, driving off onto Bloomfield Ave. Vehicle was entered stolen into NCIC.
Warrant Arrest: Venus Hannah Age 54 of Newark, NJ- Officers conducted a field interview in the area of Franklin Street (Marshalls) on a female who is known to them as a frequent area Shoplifter. The female provided ID and was Record Checked which alerted Officers to an Outstanding Warrant for Bloomfield. The female was placed under arrest, transported to HQ, processed then released with a new court date.
2/6/18- Ashley, Raisner Age 29 Of East Orange, NJ- Officers on Routine Patrol encountered a Female standing in the middle of Conger St delaying traffic. This Female provided ID and was Record Checked which alerted Officers of (2) Outstanding Warrants both out of the Jurisdiction of Orange. Suspect was arrested, transported to HQ, processed and released with a new court date.
2/8/16- Jorge, Barreto Age 50 of Rockaway, NJ- While on Routine Patrol, officers observed a vehicle traveling on Conger Street with tinted windows. A check of the Vehicle’s plate through InfoCop alerted Officers that the registered owner had an Outstanding Warrant out of the Jurisdiction of Elmwood Park. A MV Stop was conducted, the driver was identified as the registered owner providing ID. The driver was placed under arrest, transported to HQ, processed and released with a new court date.
2/9/18- Lydia Nieves Age 33 of Newark, NJ Edith Bautista Age 41 of Newark, NJ- Officers conducted a MV Stop on a vehicle traveling on Bloomfield Ave where the driver failed to use the proper turning signals, also vehicle had non-operable brake lights, and a tinted license plate cover. Driver and passenger both provided ID, and were Record Checked, which alerted Officers that both Driver and the passenger had Outstanding Warrants out of the Jurisdictions of East Orange and Bloomfield. Both were placed under arrest, transported to HQ, processed and both released on a new pending court date.
2/9/18- Alan Beesley Age 57 of Bloomfield, NJ- Officers dispatched to Park Avenue on a report of a suspicious person. Complainant reported that the suspect was evicted and now trespassing on the premises without permission. Suspect was Record Checked which alerted Officers that suspect had an Outstanding Warrant out of the Jurisdiction of Montclair. Suspect was placed under arrest, transported to HQ, processed and placed in Cell Block awaiting Montclair PD.
2/9/18- Andia Giancarlo Age 43, Of New York- Officers on Routine Patrol, observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. As Officers followed the vehicle, it turned into a driveway on the 100 block of Glenwood Ave. The Lone Occupant gave conflicting reasons for pulling into the driveway, revealing he did not have a reason to be there. Individual provided Officers with ID, which a Record Check Alerted Officers that the individual had (3) Outstanding Warrants, (2) out of Bloomfield and (1) out of the Jurisdiction of Hoboken. The driver was placed under arrest, transported to HQ, processed and released on a new pending court date.
