My favorite is the commercial for some streaming service where the guy says “Now you watch movies on your phone,” as if ...

Why would they all leave?

It’s the question to which I know the answer to, but still find it incomprehensible when I see the rugged beauty and enjoy the simple lifestyle of Southern Italy even for a too-short vacation.

In the earliest days of Southern Italian ...

How to Make Perfectly Cooked Hard-Boiled Eggs

April 19, 2019

When it comes to the simple hard-boiled egg, it seems nothing is simple. Some people will swear by steaming them in an egg cooker or Instant Pot. Others have taken to using a sous vide. And those things are great — if you have them. But all you really need to make a great egg is a pot and some water.

This method is great for making anything from one large egg to a couple dozen at ...

In Massachusetts, we have been following the ongoing debate in New Jersey to expand the number of liquor licenses that one entity can own. For decades, supermarkets and other entities in both states have been unnecessarily and unfairly limited under outdated laws that stymie business growth and customer convenience.

Massachusetts had endured these onerous restrictions until lawmakers and ...

Granted, true crime is my favorite genre, and any book about Truman Capote’s classic In Cold Blood is going to lure my attention.
