BLOOMFIELD, NJ-- In a report issued by Essex County this morning Bloomfield COVID-19 cases have reached 673 this morning, up from 667 yesterday.  The slight increase shows a significant decrease of some of the day to day numbers we have seen over the past few weeks.

In addition to the case numbers, the County also shared some additional data that breaks down the cases based on age and sex.  The majority of cases (33.8%) in Essex County are found in the 30-49 age group followed by 50-64 years old (31.1%). As far as deaths, 37.1% of deaths occurred in patients aged 65-79, 33.4% occurred in those 80 and over and 22.8% in thoise aged 50-64.

While the number of cases is very close among males and females, at 50.9% female to 48.9% female (.2% unknown), Essex County males are dying of COVID-19 at a higher rate than females with 55.9% of all deaths occurring in males and 44.1% of deaths in females.
