BLOOMFIELD, NJ-- After more than two weeks of waiting, Benjamin Morse has been named the winner of the undecided third seat Bloomfield BOE election. Jill Fischman and Daniel Anderson were the top two vote-getters.Originally, after all votes were counted and all voting machines were checked, the Essex County Clerk had certified the election as a tie for the third position.
After a recount of all votes cast, it was determined that Morse won by 7 votes over Emily Smith. TAPinto Bloomfield reached out to Morse for a reaction, and he was elated. "This has been one heck of an election. I never thought it would end! I had a lot of great support from across Bloomfield and that meant (and still means) a lot. It’s an honor to be on the Board of Education and I will work my tail off for our students. Frankly, I still can’t believe it."
