MONTCLAIR, NJ - On Election Day, Mikie Sherrill casted her vote in the 2018 midterm election at Northeast Elementary School in Montclair. Around 10:00 a.m., she spoke to voters and the media about running in the New Jersey's 11th Congressional District.
Sherrill walked into Northeast with her husband and two of her four children. She was greeted by voters with all smiles and words of encouragement.
After casing a ballot for herself, Sherrill said, "It's incredibly exciting and I love having my kids with me so they can see our family voting and how important it is."
She said that for the rest of the day, she was planning on having breakfast at the Montclair Diner and then talking to voters and visiting volunteers who are canvassing for her. "We are going all over the district to talk to voters and see people while they canvass..."
Throughout the day, she will also make stops in Chatham and Parsippany.
