RINGWOOD, NJ - Families can take a step back into the past as history throughout the ages will be highlighted at one of Passaic County's historic treasures. Ringwood Manor will host a "timeline" of living history displays on August 10 & 11. Ringwood Manor, located at 1304 Sloatsburg Road, Ringwood, NJ 07456-1799, will feature exceptionally knowledgeable reenactors--all volunteers--interpreting various periods of history, spanning the 1550s to the 1970s. Visitors will get to interact with the past through participants dressed in period appropriate attire and uniforms, examine historic weaponry, and view live demonstrations of period cooking, crafts, and entertainments.
The encampment is set to be an extraordinary gathering of world history presented in one weekend and will allow the public an up-close and personal look at the events that shaped our modern world. Visitors of all ages will find something to stir their interest and learn something new at the same time.
A list of participants, the time periods and interpretations they represent, and which days they will be partaking in the event, can be found by visiting www.ringwoodmanor.org/events.html
This living history event is free of charge. There is, however, a parking fee to enter Ringwood State Park of $5 per car for in-state residents, $7 per car for out-of-state residents. The event will take place rain or shine.
