TRENTON, NJ-- Bloomfield Town Administrator Matthew Watkins was one of 33 members appointed to The NJ Restart and Recovery Advisory Council. The Governor’s Restart and Recovery Advisory Council brings together leaders from diversity industry groups and community organizations throughout New Jersey to advise state leadership on economic matters impacted by COVID-19.
Watkins, a career professional municipal manager serving in that position over the past 35 years in three different states but primarily in New Jersey, currently serves as the Township Administrator in Bloomfield. He has served in seven different communities ranging from urban to suburban municipalities. Mr. Watkins has also served at the State of New Jersey as Director of Local Government Services and Commissioner on the Public Employment Relations Commission. Matt currently serves as the President for the New Jersey Municipal Managers Association.
"I am honored to be chosen to serve on this subcommittee and assist the number of dedicated public officials who on the committee with me. It is an honor to represent Bloomfield and professional municipal management. I hope this work will make us a better town and hopefully aid in a quicker recovery," said Watkins.
