BLOOMFIELD, NJ--Starting tomorrow, March 16, Bloomfield will be taking additional measures to keep the community safe.  

Bloomfield will be closing it's municipal building to the public starting Monday, March 16th 

Bloomfield will be closing all public playgrounds.  It's being encouraged that you to not use school  playgrounds as well.  In addition to Bloomfield's measures, Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo, Jr. has announced that dog parks in Branch Brook, Watsessing and Brookdale Parks & Hilltop and South Mountain Reservations will be closed indefinitely.

"In an effort to flatten the curve and enforcing a social distancing mandate, the Mayor and Council have taken these measures," said Mayor Michael Venezia

Starting Tuesday, March 17th all non uniformed township  employees will work an alternate work schedule.

The Mayor and council will be discussing closing all restaurants and bars for take out and curbside pick up only.  This discussion will happen at the township council meeting on Monday night.
