BLOOMFIELD, NJ-- The Bloomfield Board of Education has announced that a teacher at one of the Township schools has tested positive for COVID-19.  While the teacher is not a Bloomfield resident, the individual worked in a Bloomfield school and last had contact with anyone in the district on March 13, 2020. There are no further details on what school(s) the faculty member worked in.

Due to privacy laws, the Bloomfield Health Department is unable to release the name of the individual but the Morris County Department of Health and Human Services, the county in which the individual resides, will follow all protocols in determining recent activities and close contacts and make notifications accordingly.

"Please know that we face this public health concern together.  We must all take care of ourselves and each other. Bloomfield is a caring, supportive, and resilient community that can overcome whatever challenges it faces in the coming weeks," said Bloomfield Superintendent of Schools Salvatore Goncalves.

If you or anyone in your family is feeling symptoms in line with COVID-19 please contact your healthcare provider for guidance.
