BLOOMFIELD, NJ-- The Bloomfield Fire Department is currently operating at a 2nd alarm fire at a tanning salon at the corner of Broad Street and Pitt Street in the North Center.  Upon arrival the firefighters reported heavy smoke showing from a tanning salon.

The fire is knocked down and appears to be contained to the tanning salon.  The department had hose lines going into the building and placed ladders up to the roof.  There are no reports of injuries at this time.

This is an evolving story as the BFD is still operating at the scene as of 6 p.m..  Mutual aid coverage to Bloomfield Fire HQ is being provided by Belleville, Montclair and East Orange.
