BLOOMFIELD, NJ-- At just after 6 this morning,.alarms came in for a working fire at The Home Depot located at 60 Orange Street. According to BFD officials the first arriving units were met with heavy smoke in the rear of the store.  Crews worked on scene for approximately 90 minutes extinguishing the fire and checking for extension. It was determined to be a building material on a pallet that had caught fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Bloomfield was assisted on scene by crews from Montclair, East Orange and Belleville.  Newark, Clifton and West Orange provided Bloomfield with firehouse coverage. There were no fire personnel injured but one store worker was treated on scene for smoke inhalation.  The sprinkler system was activated and the store remains closed until further notice.
