1/24/20- Earl Williams Age 64 of Newark, NJ- Officers responded to 8 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a shoplifter that left the store without paying for merchandise. The suspect, later identified as Mr. Williams was located at Franklin and Fredrick Streets in Belleville. Mr. Williams was approached and questioned with the green and white bag in close proximity. The bag contained multiple men’s socks valued at $70.00. Mr. Williams was arrested, transported to HQ, processed, charged with shoplifting and transported to E.C.C.F. Suspect description: African American male wearing a brown hat, black coat, khaki pants, and carrying a white and green bag.
1/25/2020- Kisha Nelson Age 32 of Newark, NJ- Officers responded to 8 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a shoplifting. The LP officer observed a female attempt to leave the store with unpaid merchandise. The female, later identified as Ms. Nelson was located in the parking lot. The items taken were recovered by LP and consisted of kids clothing valued at $242.00. Ms. Nelson was handcuffed, transported to HQ, processed, charged with shoplifting and has a pending court date.
1/20/20- An officer responded to Franklin Street on report of a Package Theft. The complainant received an email notification that her package was delivered to her home on 1/4/2020 at 3:36 p.m. When she checked for the package, it was not there. The package contained a pair of sneakers from Macy’s valued at $17.00. This incident is under investigation.
1/21/20- A Bloomfield Avenue resident responded to HQ to report a Package Theft. The resident’s package from Amazon was delivered to the apartment complex and she never received it. The packages contained 1 silver Multi-Cut Cubic Zirconia Eternity Ring valued at $36.00, a Cotu four pack large Strong Suction Cup valued at $6.99, Professional Steele Knife valued at $23.82, Zober Non-Slip Velvet Hangover valued at $18.99 and a Lanuoshi 925 sterling silver ring valued at $53.99. This incident is under investigation.
Motor Vehicle Theft:
1/20/20- Officers responded to North 16th Street on a report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. The vehicle owner parked his vehicle on 1/19/20 at 1:15 p.m. The following morning at 1:30 a.m.; he observed his vehicle was missing. The vehicle is described as a 2001 green Jeep Wagon, NJ Registration U37KCF.The vehicle was entered NCIC stolen.
1/21/20- Luis Bonilla Age 38 of Newark, NJ- Officers responded to 72 Bloomfield Ave (Sunoco) to assist another officer on a MV stop. The driver was approached and advised the reason for the stop. Upon checking all credentials, officers were alerted that the driver’s license and registration were suspended. Ms. Bonilla also had an outstanding warrant from Essex County Sheriff’s Office. She was arrested, transported to HQ, processed, issued a summons, and transported to Essex County Jail.
1/22/20- Jaiana Lopez Age 23 of Bloomfield, NJ- The Fugitive Apprehension Team responded to Berkeley Avenue for Ms. Lopez on an outstanding warrant out of Bloomfield Township. Ms. Lopez was advised the reason for the arrest and secured in handcuffs. She was transported to HQ, processed, posted bail, and has a new court date.
