Shoplifting: 

2/17/2020- An officer responded to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a shoplifting. The store employee observed a male remove a display item from the shelf. He then left the store without paying. The item taken was a curling Iron valued at $32.00. Suspect description: Hispanic male in his 40’s with a black hood covering his head, and a brown vest with a rip under the arm. This incident was investigated by a Bloomfield Detective and the suspect was positively identified as Noel Hernandez, 47 years of age from Newark, NJ. He was mailed a summons for shoplifting. 

2/18/2020- An officer responded to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a shoplifting. A store employee observed a male on store surveillance, place numerous beauty supplies and facial cream into a plastic bag. He then left the store without paying for the items. The products were valued at $400.00. A search of the area was conducted for the suspect with negative results. Suspect description: A Hispanic male, tall, thin build, wearing a black hood, and red accents. This incident was investigated by a Bloomfield Detective and the suspect was positively identified as Angel D. Figueroa, 32 years of age from Newark, NJ. He was mailed a summons for shoplifting.

2/18/2020- Guillermo Estrada Age 51 of Newark, NJ- An Officer on patrol in the area of 77 Bloomfield Avenue observed a male, later identified as Guillero Estrada exit the parking lot and crossed the street towards Ampere Parkway carrying an orange bag with a Nike logo. He matched the description of a shoplifter from earlier in the day from Walgreens. Mr. Estrada was detained and had items from Walgreens in his possession. It was determined that the products were proceeds from a theft earlier in the day at Walgreens. The items were hair products valued at $156.00 and were returned to the store. Mr. Estrada was arrested, transported to HQ, processed, charged with shoplifting, and transported to E.C.C.F. 

2/19/2020- Markus Hand Age 24 of, Newark, NJ- An officer responded to 60 Orange Street (Home Depot) on report of a shoplifter in custody. The LP officer observed the suspect, later identified as Marcus Hand attempt to walk out of the store without paying for two, Rubican 8 inch, 2 Handle Bath Faucets valued at $298.00. Mr. Hand was detained by Loss Prevention with all items in his possession. Upon police arrival, he was handcuffed, transported to HQ, processed, charged with shoplifting, and has a pending court date. 

2/22/2020- An officer was dispatched to 250 Glenwood Avenue (CVS Pharmacy) on report of a shoplifting. The LP officer observed a Hispanic male place numerous bottles of lotion and hygiene products in a backpack and left the store. While leaving, he left the backpack behind with the items inside, valued at $325.00. A search of the area was conducted for the suspect with negative results. Suspect description: Hispanic male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, grey hat, and carrying a red backpack. 

2/22/2020- An officer was dispatched to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a shoplifting. The store employee observed two suspects conceal Aveeno cosmetic products inside one of the suspect’s jacket and left the store without paying. Both suspects fled the store on foot towards Newark. A search of the area for the suspects was conducted with negative results. The items taken are valued at $283.00. This incident is under investigation. Suspect 1-Hispanic male wearing a brown vest. 

Suspect 2-African American male wearing dark clothing, and a dark colored jacket. 

Warrant Arrest: 

2/17/2020- Gabriel Santiago Age 59 of Paterson, NJ- Officers on patrol in the area of Broad Street observed a male party rummaging through garbage. The party was approached and provided credentials verbally to be checked. Officers were alerted that Mr. Santiago had active warrants out of Nutley and Bloomfield Township. Mr. Santiago was arrested, transported to HQ, processed, and transported to E.C.C.F. 

2/21/2020- John Potocki Age 24 of Bloomfield, NJ- The Fugitive Apprehension Team responded to Middlesex County Probation Office on a warrant arrest. Mr. Potocki was handcuffed, and placed in the patrol vehicle and transported to Bloomfield HQ. He was processed, issued a new court date, posted bail, and released without incident. 

2/23/2020- Earl Williams of Newark, NJ- An officer in the area of 8 Franklin Street observed Mr. Williams who is a known shoplifter in the parking lot on his bicycle. He was approached and checked for warrants. Officers were alerted that Mr. Williams had an outstanding warrant out of the City of Newark. He was handcuffed, transported to HQ, processed, and released with a new court date
