5/2/2020-An officer responded to 296 Glenwood Ave (Jack's Super Food Town) on report of a shoplifting. The manager reported that an African American male placed four Tide laundry detergents in a white pillow case and left the establishment without paying for them. The detergent is valued at $76.00 and the suspect left the scene prior to police arrival. BPD units responded to the area and conducted a search with negative results for the suspect. Suspect description: African American male, approximately 40-50 years of age, wearing a brown jacket, tan pants, tan baseball hat, medical mask and was carrying a white pillow case.
4/27/2020- An officer took a telephone report of a package theft. A Walnut Street resident reports that 3 packages were stolen from her front porch. The items taken are an Amazon Echo valued at $40.00 a garbage can valued at $50.00 and a medical neck brace valued at $50.00. The items were stolen on 4/7/2020 but not reported until 4/27/2020. All three items were confirmed delivered by Amazon.
Theft from Auto
5/1/2020-An officer took a telephone report of a theft from vehicle. A Waldo Avenue resident reports that someone broke into his vehicle's toolbox. He parked his vehicle in front of his house at 6:30 p.m. on 4/30/2020. When he returned to his vehicle in the morning on 5/1/2020, he noticed the vehicle's toolbox was rummaged through. Items taken from the toolbox are a compressor, a generator, and other miscellaneous tools valued at $1000. There was no damage done to the vehicle and he believes the toolbox was left unlocked. This incident is under investigation.
5/1/2020- An officer responded to the area of Bloomfield Avenue and Glenwood Avenue on report of a theft from auto. The complainant reports that at approximately 6:00 p.m. on 5/1/2020 he parked his vehicle in front of 317 Glenwood Avenue, exited his vehicle, removed some items and entered the building without locking his car doors. When he was returning to the vehicle, he observed a royal blue BMW stopped on the side of his vehicle. He then observed a dark skinned male in the driver seat of his vehicle. The suspect then exits the vehicle and enters the BMW in the passenger seat and fled on Bloomfield Avenue. The complainant followed the BMW for a short time which fled east onto Bloomfield Avenue and eventually south on Ampere Parkway. There were (2) one hundred dollar bills taken from his center console. The complainant did not have his cell phone with him and was unable to call the police at the time of occurrence. Suspect vehicle: a Royal Blue BMW X1 SUV bearing partial NJ Registration A84 Suspect description: dark skinned male with a dark colored hoody, beard and white face mask.
4/29/2020-An officer took a telephone report of a package theft. A North 16th Street resident was waiting for a Fed EX package to be delivered. When he arrived home the package was not on the porch. Fed Ex confirmed that the package was delivered. The package was valued at $259.62.
Motor Vehicle Theft:
4/28/2020- A complainant responded to the Police desk to report that someone broke into his garage on Morris Place between March 10th, 2020 and April 28, 2020. He parked his Kawasaki motorcycle, NJ registration 3YLP6 inside of his garage on March 10, 2020 and when he returned on 4/28/2020, it was no longer there. The garage door was kept closed with a padlock which was no longer there as well. There was one NJ license plate affixed to the motorcycle and no keys. The motorcycle was entered NCIC stolen.
