Shoplifting:

1/27/2020- Joshua Wicks Age 34 of Belleville, NJ- Officers responded to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on report of a shoplifter in custody. LP officer observed a male, later identified as Mr. Wicks place numerous packs of gum inside his shirt and jacket. Wicks was detained by LP and escorted to the security office. Upon police arrival, Mr. Wicks was handcuffed, transported to HQ, processed, charged with shoplifting, and released with a pending court date. The total amount of merchandise is valued at $214.00. All proceeds were recovered and returned to Stop & Shop.

1/28/2020- William Bambrick Age 55 of Belleville, NJ- An officer responded to 60 Orange Street (Home Depot) on report of a shoplifter in custody. LP observed Mr. Bambrick attempt to take a Medium Oak 18" x 84" pantry cabinet valued at $276.00 without paying for it. Mr. Bambrick was arrested, transported to HQ, processed, charged with shoplifting, and released with a pending court date.

1/30/2020- Justin Armstrong Age 29 of Newark, NJ- An officer responded to 250 Glenwood Avenue (CVS Pharmacy) on report of a shoplifting. The manager observed Mr. Armstrong place items in a bag. Upon police arrival, Mr. Armstrong was approached and had the proceeds from the store in his bag. The items were valued at $50.00 and were returned to CVS. Mr. Armstrong was arrested, transported to HQ, processed, charged with shoplifting, and released with a pending court date.

2/1/2020-Christina Lopez, Age 32 of Newark, NJ- An officer was dispatched to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on report of a shoplifter in custody. Ms. Lopez was observed placing 5 bottles of laundry detergent into laundry bags. Ms. Lopez attempted to leave without paying for the detergent. The detergent is valued at $102.00 and returned to Stop & Shop. Ms. Lopez was handcuffed, transported to HQ, processed, charged with shoplifting, and released with a pending court date.

Motor Vehicle Theft:

2/1/2020-An officer responded to Van Winkle Street on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. The vehicle owner parked her van at 6:00 p.m. on 1/24/2020. On 2/1/2020 she noticed that her vehicle was not where she left it. The vehicle is described as a 2012 white Ford Van, NJ registration M65LFT. The vehicle was entered NCIC Stolen.

Burglary:

1/31/2020- An officer responded to 129 Franklin Street on report of an Attempted Burglary. The store owner received a call from his alarm company that the store alarm was going off. Damage was observed on the front door and the window. The suspect(s) did not gain entry to the store. This incident is under investigation.  

Warrant Arrest:

1/27/20- Candice Dressler Age 38 of Atlantic Highlands, NJ- An officer responded to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on report of a verbal argument between an employee and a customer. Ms. Dressler was record checked for warrants. She had an outstanding warrant out of the City of Newark. Ms. Dressler was arrested, transported to HQ, processed, and issued a new court date. 

1/28/20-Rodney Holman Age 36 of East Orange, NJ- Officers on patrol in the area of Dodd Street and Lawrence Street observed a vehicle traveling with tinted windows and a cracked windshield. A MV Stop was conducted and the vehicle owner was approached and advised the reason for the stop. Upon checking the driver’s credentials, officers were alerted that Mr. Holman had a warrant out of Newark and Bloomfield. Mr. Holman was arrested, transported to HQ, processed, and released with a new court date.
