Theft:

3/10/2020- Officers responded to 244 Bloomfield Avenue (Aldi Food Store) on report of a Theft. While shopping in Aldi’s, a female customer stepped away from her cart for a few minutes. When she returned, she observed that her black leather wallet was taken from her purse. The purse contained credit cards, vehicle registration, vehicle insurance card, and a social security card. The complainant received an alert from her bank that the cards were used for transactions of $35.15 and $425.70 at Walgreens and Staples in Bloomfield. The female suspect was captured on video surveillance. This incident is under investigation. Suspect description: heavy set African American female wearing glasses, a purple jacket, a white/purple/teal hooded shirt, blue pants, and a brown Louis Vuitton tote bag.

3/9/2020- An officer responded to Morley Lane on report of a package Theft. A female complainant’s package from Groupon was delivered to her home on 2/27/2020 at 4:09 p.m. by US Postal Service. When she arrived home, the package was not there. The package contained a pair of pants valued at $13.00. This incident is under investigation. 

3/13/2020- An officer was dispatched to Fremont Street on report of a Package Theft. The complainant received a delivery from Butcher Box containing $150 worth of meat products. He then left his residence at 11:00 a.m. and observed his package on the front steps of his apartment building. He moved his package from the front steps to the common area of his building which is only accessible to residents. He left the property and returned to his residence at 12:00 noon and noticed that his package was missing. This incident is under investigation. 

Motor Vehicle Theft: 

3/9/2020- An officer was dispatched to 60 Orange Street (Home Depot) on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft attempt. The vehicle owner entered his vehicle after work and observed the doors of his truck were tampered with and damaged. The ignition was also broken with debris on the floor. Items taken from the vehicle is spare change and a pair of sunglasses valued at $50.00. This incident is under investigation. 

3/11/2020- An officer responded to Montgomery Street on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. The vehicle owner parked his vehicle on 3/10/2020 at 5:00 p.m. When he returned the following morning, he observed his driver and passenger side door locks damaged, the vehicle ignition damaged, and the dash board removed. Personal items were not removed or missing from the vehicle. This incident is under investigation. 

3/11/2020- An officer was dispatched to 240 Bloomfield Avenue (Chipotle) on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. The complainant left his car running with the keys in the ignition while he went in the store to pick up his order. When returning to his vehicle, he saw a heavy-set African American male enter the vehicle and speed off on Bloomfield Avenue towards Newark. A search of the area was conducted with negative results. The vehicle is described as a black 2004 2dr Infiniti, NJ registration R28LXP. The vehicle was entered NCIC stolen. Suspect description: heavy set African American male, 6’01, 220 pounds, wearing a green camouflage hooded sweatshirt. 

3/14/2020- An officer responded to Prospect Street on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. The vehicle owner parked his van directly in front of 36 Prospect Street on 3/13/20 at 7:45 p.m. On 3/14/20 at approximately 7:30 p.m., he discovered his vehicle missing. There was approximately $960.00 worth of work equipment inside the vehicle at the time it was stolen. The vehicle is described as a 2001 white Ford Econoline, NJ registration U19DWU. The vehicle was entered NCIC stolen. 

3/15/2020- An officer responded to North 17th Street on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. The vehicle owner parked his vehicle on North 17th Street on 3/14/2020 at 3:00 p.m. The vehicle was locked and had both plates attached. He last saw his vehicle at 11:00 p.m. the same day and when he came out of his residence on 3/15/2020 at 1:00 p.m., the vehicle was not there. The vehicle is described as a 2013 red Chevy Camaro, NJ registration RM56BK. The vehicle was entered NCIC stolen. 

Burglary: 

3/10/2020- An officer responded to North 16th Street on report of a Burglary. The homeowner left his home at 6:00 a.m. on 3/10/2020 for work and returned at 5:00 p.m. While doing laundry he noticed multiple items missing from his home. The items missing are: three pair of Adidas Yeezy Sneakers valued at $600.00, 18k gold chain valued at $850.00, two wedding bands with diamonds valued at $300, one Michael Kors watch valued at $225, and one Guess watch valued at $120. The items taken are valued at $3,155.00. There were signs of forced entry observed on a window. Bloomfield Crime Scene Unit responded and processed the scene. This incident is under investigation. 

Warrant Arrest

3/12/2020- Freddie Foster Age 23 of East Orange, NJ- Officers on patrol in the area of Bloomfield Ave and JFK observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. A MV stop was conducted; the driver was approached and advised the reason for the stop. The driver license was checked and officers were alerted that Mr. Foster had an active warrant out of the City of Newark. Mr. Foster was arrested, transported to HQ, processed, issued a summons, and released with a new court date.
