Shoplifting: 

06/16/2020-Officers responded to 331 Broad Street (CVS) on report of a shoplifting. Loss Prevention stated that at approximately 08:11 a.m. a Caucasian male stole 8 sets of razors worth $100 dollars. The suspect fled the store without paying. Incident is under investigation. 

06/18/2020- Officers were dispatched to 250 Glenwood Ave (CVS) on a report of a shoplifter. Loss Prevention reports that at 4:58 p.m. a suspect shoplifted 6 packs of Dove soap that totaled $19.00 dollars. Suspect fled south on Glenwood Ave. This incident is under investigation.

6/19/2020- Jessica Edwin age 32 of Bronx, NY- Officers were dispatched to 250 Glenwood Ave (CVS) on report of a shoplifter. Loss Prevention stated that at 14:00 hours a Hispanic female dragging a pink suitcase stole 15 pints of Haagen-Dazs ice cream worth approximately $50.00 dollars. The female fled in a silver Nissan Pathfinder with temp tags. Patrol located the vehicle and apprehended the above suspect. Ms. Edwin was charged with theft and released with a pending court date. 

6/19/2020- Edil Hernandez-Torres age 36 of Newark, NJ- Officers responded to 60 Orange St (Home Depot) on report of a shoplifter. Loss Prevention stated that the above individual picked up three power drills, walked to the rear of the store and concealed merchandise into his back pack. Suspect was apprehended by store security and proceeds were worth $492.00 were recovered. Mr. Hernandez Torres was charged with theft and released with a pending court date. 

Theft: 

06/18/2020- An Officer took a telephone report of theft from a Baldwin Street resident. Resident reports that on or about March 7th 2020 at her home and during a party, one of her guests, stole a pair of Platinum Diamond Earrings worth $5100.00. This incident is under investigation. 

06/20/2020 - An Officer took a telephone report of a theft from Hobson Street. Resident reports that on or about June 19th 2020 both of her license plates were stolen off her vehicle. Incident is under investigation. 

Theft from Auto 

06/18/2020 – An Officer took a telephone report of a theft from auto from a LaFrance Ave resident. Resident reports that between 00:01 and 11:00 hours on 6/18/2020, someone entered her vehicle on LaFrance Ave and stole her blue wallet, NJ driver’s license, multiple credit cards and cash. This incident is under investigation

06/18/2020- An Officer was dispatched to a Linden Avenue residence on report of a theft from auto. Resident reports that she parked her vehicle at 16:00 hours on June 18th and when she returned at 16:30 on the same day, her vehicle was rummaged through. Resident does not believe that anything is missing at this time. This incident is under investigation. 

Package Theft: 

06/16/2020- John Lado age 59 of Bloomfield, NJ- An Officer took a telephone report of a package theft from a Franklin Street resident. The resident had her HP 360 laptop delivered to the front entrance of her building by USPS. Upon trying to retrieve the package, it was stolen. After an investigation by Bloomfield Detective Bureau, Mr. Lado was charged with theft and released with a pending court date. 

Aggravated Assault: 

6/19/2020- Tre Byrd, age 19 of Newark, NJ- Byrd was arrested for the shooting incident that occurred on Arlington Avenue on 6/19/2020. Byrd is currently at the Essex County Correctional Facility and was charged with the following crimes: 

Two counts of Criminal Attempt Murder 2C:11-3a(1) First Degree Crime; 

One count of Conspiracy to Commit Attempted Murder 2C:5-2 

Second Degree Crime; ➢ One count of Criminal Attempt Robbery 2C:15-1a(1) First Degree Crime; 

One count of Conspiracy to Commit Attempted Robbery 2C:5-2 Second Degree; 

One count of Possession of Prohibited Weapons (Defaced Firearm) 2C:39-3(d) Fourth Degree Crime;  

One count of Unlawful Possession of a Handgun 2C:39-5b(1) Second Degree Crime;  

One count of Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose 2C:39- 4a(1) Second Degree Crime; 

Notable incidents currently under investigation: Aggravated Assault Robbery 

These incidents are currently being investigated by Bloomfield Detectives. Due to the on-going investigations, information will not be released at this time.
